This vacant stand features undulating terrain with dry river beds. The little kopjie makes for an attractive feature and the position along the fenceline to the North while touching on a larger farm portion to the South give this stand a more private setting. Grietjie is made up of 126 farm portion, generally 21 hectares in size. The total land coverage of Grietjie is 2 800 hectares in extent. Grietjie Private Game Reserve is one of the initial reserves that became part of the 40,000 hectare Balule Nature Reserve, which is open to the Kruger National Park. It also falls in the proclaimed UNESCO Kruger to Canyon Biosphere, one of the largest Biosphere areas in the world. All game species that would be found in Kruger Park occur in this area, as well as an abundance of birdlife. The reserve is managed by an elected committee as well as a head ranger and staff who see to the day to day running of the reserve.
